Our great-grandparents5 Major John Edison (1727-1814) and Sarah Ogden (1744-1811) are also the great-grandparents1 of Thomas Alva Edison.  Thomas' grandfather, Captain Samuel Ogden Edison1, is the brother of Margaret Edison who married Lieut. Col. William Saxton.  Clarine Saxton was Margaret's and William's first child.  Clarine married Stephen Fletcher1 in Ontario, Canada.  Thomas Alva Edison, known as the "Wizard of Menlo Park," is considered to be one of the greatest inventors in the history of the world.  He holds the world's record for patents with 1,093 the most ever granted to one person.
