Our great-grandparents(5) Major John Edison (1727-1814) and Sarah Ogden (1744-1811) are also the great-grandparents(1) of Thomas Alva Edison.  Thomas' grandfather, Captain Samuel Ogden Edison(1), is the brother of Margaret Edison who married Lieut. Col. William Saxton.  Clarine Saxton, Margaret's and William's first child, married Stephen Fletcher in Ontario, Canada.  Thomas Alva Edison, known as the "Wizard of Menlo Park," is considered to be one of the greatest inventors in the history of the world.  He holds the world's record for patents with 1,093 the most ever granted to one person.
